That’s why I’m thrilled to share an incredible opportunity:
The City of Vista Youth Scholarship Program!
As an approved vendor, Savage Boxing Gym is ready to welcome scholarship recipients! This program provides financial assistance to help Vista youth participate in City-approved recreational and enrichment activities—including training here!
💰What you need to know
Eligible applicants can receive up to $500 per City of Vista fiscal year.
Covers the cost of your training and equipment.
Funds are paid directly to Savage Boxing Gym on your behalf—they are never given directly to the applicant. (not even as refunds)
The cost must be $500 or less, though partial payments may be awarded if we, as the vendor, allow it (be sure to confirm with us!).
✅ Who is Eligible to Apply? (Standard Criteria)
Applicants must meet all of the following:
Be under the age of 25.
Reside within the City of Vista's city limits.
Meet the income qualifications (check the Income Eligibility Chart in the official guidelines to confirm).
📝 Ready to Apply? The Online Process
STEP 1: Request an invoice from our gym by calling or texting (760) 622-9898 STEP 2: Submit applications through the online portal: https://awards.vista.gov.
Make sure you have your required documents ready for the 'Uploads' section:
Proof of Vista residency (e.g., utility bill, lease/mortgage statement, or others listed in the guidelines).
You must also certify that you meet the income qualifications and understand you may need to provide income documentation (e.g., tax returns, pay stubs, Medi-Cal/CalFresh cards).
🚨 Important Note on Submission: Be sure to save your application as Final when you are done! Applications saved as "Draft" are considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
🗓️ When to Apply: Scholarship Calendar
The program operates on an annual calendar. Applications are not accepted during the designated "Review Periods".
For the current Fiscal Year (FY 2026 – 2027), the months when NEW APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED are:
December 2026
March 2027
June 2027 (End of FY 26-27)
All other months are currently designated as "Accepting New Applications".
